Tour

We're bringing the best skate spots of San Francisco and Barcelona to the UK!

To celebrate the launch of Skate, two of the UK's most prominent skate crews will be touring skate parks across the UK in a head-to-head battle. We have recreated seven iconic skate spots from San Francisco and Barcelona, the real world inspiration for Skate's virtual city, San Vanelona, and brought them to the UK.

These classic skate locations have been reproduced via skate furniture in skate parks across the nation and anyone with a board can turn up and try out the designated trick challenges, detailed here.

Keep your eyes open and be prepared for some of the raddest kickflips and craziest rails when The Death crew from Middlesex face off against London's Blueprint crew as they bring the world of skate to life and hit a skate park near you.

The tour begins on Sunday 29th September at the Factory, Dundee, and will take in a further six skate parks:

- Revolution Skatepark, Broadstairs, Kent - Saturday 29th September - 2 to 4pm

- Bay 66, London - Sunday 30th September - 2 to 4pm

- The House, Sheffield - Tuesday 2nd October - 6 to 8pm

- The Factory, Dundee - Thursday 4th October - 2 to 4pm

- Rampworx, Liverpool - Friday 5th October - 6 to 8pm

- The Works, Leeds - Saturday 6th October - 2 to 4pm

- The Park, Gt. Yarmouth - Sunday 7th October - 2 to 4pm

Skaters across the country are being invited to try their hand and compete in any one of these skate challenges, with the aim of scooping a trip to the authentic locations in San Francisco and Barcelona. Entering is easy - just get a friend to film you performing the trick challenge on any one of the selected blocks then upload the clip to skate.electronicarts.co.uk. The clips will then be judged by Andy Horsly from Sidewalk magazine and Niall Heesen from Kingpin.

Skate is the closest thing to skateboarding without actually putting your feet on a board. With innovative controls that take advantage of the dual analog sticks, the power of the next gen hardware, and the ability to sculpt tricks that define your own style, skate delivers an authentic boarding mecca like no other videogame.

Individual style combined with physics-driven animations promise that no two tricks will ever be the same. And there’s plenty of room to pull off those tricks - San Vanelona challenges you to explore, find, and own the best spots.

You can even capture footage and place it online to show off your style to your friends across the world - because without footage, it's fiction.
