Tiger Woods came to London for the launch of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 07 Central London Location Staged the World’s First Virtual and Real-Golf Challenge. To celebrate the launch of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 07, EA SPORTS organised the biggest golf event to hit London. Tiger Woods made an incredibly rare public appearance by taking on well-known personalities, competition winners and one lucky member of the public in a test of both video game and golf skills in Leicester Square. The event took place on Monday 25th September 2006. EA SPORTS gave exclusive coverage of the event to Channel 4’s T4 for this momentous occasion to create the ultimate virtual and real-life golf challenge. Three par 3 holes from famous courses around the world had been recreated and players tested their skills by teeing off on Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 07 before placing their ball on the green and putting against the world’s number one golfer. Personalities including Vernon Kay, Ian Wright and Jodie Kidd were all there as Tiger Woods took over T4 and they took on Tiger at his own game. There were opportunities for everyone to get involved, with game pods and skill zone challenges and one lucky spectator won the chance to join the other prize winners to meet and play against Tiger where the overall winner earned the right to be immortalised in a future version of the game. Members of the public were given one attempt to drive a famous fairway as Tiger in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 07 and the player with the longest drive went through to the final challenge. >> Read the Event Blog which was updated live from Leicester Square >> View the Event Photo Gallery >> Find out more about the Longest Drive Contest
