- The opening time and date of the competition is Friday 5th November 2004 at 00.01 GMT, and the closing date and time for receipt of entries is Friday 12th November at 23.59 GMT. Entries submitted after this time will not be considered.
- This competition is open to residents of the UK and the Republic of Ireland aged sixteen (16) and over only. Employees (and members of their immediate family) of “Electronic Arts” (“EA”) are not eligible to enter.
- No purchase necessary. Enter via text or free post and you will be entered into the prize draw. Ten (10) winners will be chosen by EA from all entries with the correct answers: one (1) for the main prize and nine (9) for the runners-up.
- The one (1) main prize will consist of a copy of The Lord of the Rings™, The Third Age™ game and one (1) Xbox™. The nine (9) runner-ups will receive a copy of The Lord of the Rings™, The Third Age™ game on a platform of their choice.
- To enter by SMS, consumers must text the corresponding code to 60022. Cost to enter the competition will be the normal text rate. Texts from Electronic Arts are free. Consumers on the following networks will be able to enter: Orange, Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile, 3 and Virgin Telephones. Consumers should check with the bill payer before sending their entry.
- Incomplete or illegible claims or those not in accordance with the entry rules are invalid and will not be entered into the draw.
- All valid text entries will receive a bounce-back message as confirmation of entry to the free prize draw. EA will pay for the cost of this message.
- Winners will be selected the day after the competition closes and notified via a call to their mobile.
- Text winners will have two (2) weeks from the date of receiving their winning notification text to register their prize claim. Text winners who do not claim their prize within two weeks of being notified will automatically forfeit their right to the prize. Electronic Arts will then be entitled to select an alternative winner from among the entrants.
- If the winner of the prizes cannot be traced after reasonable efforts have been made by Electronic Arts, Electronic Arts will be entitled to select an alternative winner from among the entrants.
There are no cash alternatives to these prizes. They are as stated and are non-transferable. If due to circumstances beyond the control of Electronic Arts, Electronic Arts is unable to provide the stated prizes, Electronic Arts reserves the right to award substitute prizes of equal value. All prizes are subject to the terms and conditions of the supplier.
In the event of a dispute, the decision of EA shall be final and legally binding. No correspondence will be entered into. If proof of age is requested, the prize shall not be dispatched unless proof of age is received and if satisfactory proof of age is not received, the Promoter reserves the rights to choose another winner.
Entrants agree that they may be required to take part in publicity without further consent or payment. Such publicity may include use of their names and/or likeness.
In the event of unforeseen circumstances the Promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
A full list of the winners will be available for four (4) weeks following the day of the selection of winners. This list can be obtained by writing to Electronic Arts Ltd, CRM, 2000 Hillswood Drive, Chertsey, Surrey KT16 0EU.
Any entry, which is damaged, corrupted, defaced, late, incomplete or otherwise does not comply with these rules may be deemed invalid at the sole discretion of Electronic Arts. Proof of sending will not be deemed to be proof of delivery. Electronic Arts cannot be held responsible for lost entries.
EA accepts no responsibility for any text messages, entries or emails that are lost or delayed or which are unable to be sent due to lack of network coverage, or for any other reason beyond EA's control.
By entering this competition players agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and by any other requirements set out in the promotional material, which may be amended or varied at any time by the Promoter. Any breach of these terms and conditions will result in a forfeit of the prize.
